Case report of cerebral cystic echinococcosis in a 5-year-old child

Cystic echinococcosis is a zoonosis caused by the larval form of tapeworm Echinococcus granulosus . It has worldwide distribution and represents particularly significant economic health burden in endemic areas. The most affected organs are liver lungs. Cerebral involvement relatively rare. This case study clinical presentation cerebral cystic 5-year-old female patient Moroccan origin who had developed recurrent seizures. Currently, diagnosis based on radiological imaging context anamnestic suspicion. Beyond conclusions that can be drawn from various reports, there no guidelines management methods or randomized controlled trials have compared methods, their absence deleterious for children. We present this report to add existing ones assist clinicians therapeutic decision-making while they await guidelines.
